Aspect ratio describes the relationship between width and height; resolution specifies the actual pixel counts. A 1920 × 1080 file and a 3840 × 2160 file share a 16:9 aspect ratio. A 2048 × 768 LED wall does not. Forcing 16:9 video to cover a different ratio can crop important details or stretch people and objects.
Enter the existing canvas width and height, then specify a desired aspect ratio such as 16:9, 16:10, or 4:3. The calculator tells you the matching height for a fixed width, and matching width for a fixed height. This helps establish safe design canvases, slide dimensions, graphic layouts and playback outputs.
Start from confirmed native display pixels, not the design template. Keep a master file with editable elements, export to the required delivery raster, and check the real output in the signal chain. A mathematically perfect ratio does not ensure proper EDID, frame rate, color space, or mapping through the LED processor.
This calculator only reports dimensions; your editing or playback software controls how it fits.
Some ratios do not produce a whole-pixel dimension at every fixed width. Round to an appropriate integer and check the slight change.
